Grrr...stupid 7. Warning, I am about to get a little whiney...I didn't deserve to see that 7 yesterday morning. For real.I was good all week, did my training, drank my water, yadda yadda yadda... The only times I saw the stupid 7 all week were the two mornings after I took Nyquil. My husband is so giving...he gave me a cold. So for about 4 days I was taking Nyquil or Advil Cold and Sinus before bed. I'm no doctor. What do I know? Well, what I do know is I'm not going to think or stress over that stupid number that is more of an annoyance to me than something that should bother me.
I had a great week running-wise. Remember how I did those hard hills last week? Well, I now know why they are awesome for you, even though they suck while you're doing them. My time for the second run I did this week on Tuesday was amazing! 9:20 consistent pace for over 5 miles. The funny thing is I wasn't even trying to run fast, it didn't feel like I was working super hard. I need to actually make myself go slower and get used to the pace I will try and run for the half on March 16 (that is in THREE weeks!!) and the full on May 18.

I am closer to my goal of joining a running group! This morning, I went to the Running Depot at 7:30am to participate in their weekly fun run. I had a really nice time! I was kind of nervous to go, being a little shy and I just didn't know what to expect. I got hooked up with a couple of people who were running at my pace and then we took off. It was nice to just have a conversation and pass the time talking than just listening to music, or my own thoughts. The change in scenery was definitely nice! I look forward to going back and doing it again! My buddies also told me about two different running groups that I can get involved with and I'm excited to talk to my husband and get us both started!
After I ran with the fun run bunch, I headed over to Cary to where the March Madness Half is and I am not lying when I say I almost cried. It is SO incredibly hilly for like the majority of the course! That's 13.1 miles of rolling hills, big hills and oh man...I realized that the next two weekends, my behind needs to be out on that course running my 10 and 12 milers so that I'm at least a little prepared. And even then, I'm not so sure I will truly be prepared, but I'm going to try! I predict there will be more tears, though...but it's the hard that makes it good, right? Have a great week, everyone!
