But, fortunately, the weather today turned out to be absolutely gorgeous! That helped! And then when I posted on Facebook, "I'm not going to lie. I honestly don't feel like going for a run this morning." and I got some virtual kicks in the butt. All I could do was get going and have a fabulous date with myself.
I ran south on the Prairie Trail which is not something I've ever done. I've ridden my bike south to my best friend's house in Crystal Lake before, but never have I run it. And really, I just ran to Edgewood and turned around. However, someday, I'll have to run farther. I know from riding my bike that there are some really wicked hills once you get into the Stern's Woods section of the trail, so that will be great hills training...someday...not today...
Have you ever gotten into something new, like crafting, or sewing or building things. Any new hobby will do for this example. So you're knee deep into making these cute snowmen out of jars and fabric, or building baggo sets and you're loving it! Each time you make a new set, you're getting better and more efficient and you start making them for your friends! It's great! But then it gets to be Christmas time, or you just get really busy making these new things and you lose focus on why you made them in the first place! It's not as fun anymore.
This is where I'm at in my training.
Please don't misunderstand! I love blogging for The Running Depot! I love running! It is so much a part of who I am now. My life is drastically different from when I started this journey and I LOVE my life right now. But I would be a liar if I wasn't honest about feeling a little burned out right now.
But here's the thing. These last two weeks and the one coming up are what scared me the most when Melissa showed me the training plan back in January. This coming week is the hardest week of the whole plan (5, 10, 5 miles during the week and 20 next weekend which Melissa and I will do together, yay!!!) So, my point is, the hardest part is almost over!!!
But the marathon is the hardest part, right? Yeah, totally, but I'm not worrying about that yet!!! Instead of worrying about that now, I'm going to enjoy my taper and the relaxing of my weekly schedule over the 3 weeks after this one coming up. The day of the race there will be adrenaline, there will be a crowd and our family and I'll be with Melissa, so I'm not going to worry about that now.

So it's my 2 year My Fitness Pal anniversary! 90lbs in 2 years! So in honor of this, I will leave you with a cool picture I saw on the Run the Edge Facebook page. Seems appropriate. Have a fantastic week, friends! I'll see you on the other side of 20 miles!
