So, I'm still up those two pounds, but I get it now, and I KNOW next week will be down. 165.0 today. My mantra has been "new job, new life", using this new job as an excuse to change my lifestyle. I'm getting home at a much more reasonable hour, so I'm not sitting down when I get home. I'm doing stuff - planning tomorrows meals, getting in my exercise downstairs, playing with the dog, working on my crafts, and generally enjoying myself. Of course, I didn't do that every day - but that is my plan. New Job = New Life. This job is in a very small office, and what's exciting to me is that these ladies (mostly ladies) don't order in food for lunch. They don't go out for lunch. They all pack their lunch and eat healthy, exciting things they made at home. I tried it myself - last weekend, I made a salad recipe I found on Pinterest (my new addiction), and gave it a try: avocado, feta, tomato, and chick peas, juice from half a lime, and spread over romaine. This is my version; I added the tomato and romaine, and left out the cilantro. Adding in the romaine made it more robust and allowed for it to be split into four portions for lunches! So yummy, and filling, and healthy! This week, I already made my "buffalo chicken salad" for the week. I feel so good about having a regular schedule, and planning my meals for the week. I feel like it's all coming together. Except for yesterday, when we went out to use Phil's birthday coupon to Prime Burger House, and I had this: So, today, I start over. I'm excited at how I feel. I'm excited that even though this job is kinda like giving up, that it's allowing me to stop giving up on all the other parts of my life.

In an effort to gain control of some part of her life, Laila has decided the “secretary spread” has gone far enough. Eating well and exercising has come and gone over the years, yet consistency remains elusive. Currently a size 12-14 her goal is to be a firm and confident 8-10 in time for her husband’s birthday, December 22, 2013, and still be there for his next birthday.
