I'm writing this (apart from the above paragraph with my weigh in results) on Friday night, sitting backstage during the intermission of Avenue Q (which, by the way, is going great and has four performances left- come and see!!!), trying to stay out of the popcorn that is backstage every night and feeling my tummy rumble because I ate dinner a little too early and now I'm hungry... I thought it might help to write, because I'm focusing my attention on the satisfaction of a good weigh in tomorrow morning rather than the instant gratification of warm, salty popcorn. Ugh, this is not easy. But I'll stay strong! And eat all the popcorn I want backstage tomorrow night when it's Eat All the Things Day.
This week certainly went better than the previous two, but it wasn't perfect. I still haven't gotten down my water routine, which is a challenge on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays because I'm going from job to job to job and frankly, there's not enough time to make the bathroom trips every fifteen minutes that drinking all that water necessitates. I didn't exercise outside of my Stretch and Grow classes like I planned to- but I will say that I made a conscious effort to pick up the pace during those classes (without leaving the three year olds in the dust), so that I'm getting a solid workout at least twice a week.
There were a few other little victories this week, too! I made a cake from scratch and by the time I put in all the work, I barely wanted to eat any. I didn't keep around any leftovers from Eat All the Things Day last week to tempt me at snack time. And a few times this week I had a very specific craving for a diet Coke from McDonald's, and I made it through the drive through without impulse buying anything else. Diet Coke really does taste better from McDonalds: it's science, yo.
I'm going to be playing Fiona in a community theater production of Shrek! It'll be my first time playing a princess since Cinderella in the 8th grade, and Fiona is much more my kind of princess.
And finally- Weight Watchers got in touch! I have a phone interview scheduled for Thursday- send me positive vibes at 11:00 am!
