Hmph. Another gain-for-no-reason. I will say that it is very hard to stay on track during a week where the scale is being a horrible meanie. But I did stay on track, so there really is no reason I should have gained 1.5 pounds this week.

Maybe I'm retaining water. Maybe my body just really likes the mid-160s and this is where we're going to hang for a while. Maybe I need to eat a little less or work out a little more (although I managed to squeeze jogging, swimming, two tennis games and a yogilates dvd into my week, so I really don't think that's it). Or maybe this is all going to pay off next week or the week after that with a nice big drop. I'll wait and see.
What cheered me up this week was seeing some pictures of myself that convinced me that despite what the scale says, I'm showing some progress.

And some more recent comparison shots... remember my jeans-related goals from a couple of months ago? Here's a visual progress report.
So while the scale may say I'm only 3.5 pounds down from when these pictures were taken, I know my body has made some definite changes. I was kind of gobsmacked when I saw these shots. I had to ask Chris to level with me and tell me if I had just lucked into a very flattering angle with that size 8 picture, or if I was actually starting to get a flat tummy (with a hint of abs beginning to show up!). He told me that yep, I actually look like that. Amazing how it's hard to really see ourselves. These pictures also demonstrate that while it may be possible to zip and button a pair of pants, that doesn't mean they fit. :) Those size 6s are not fit for public outings yet. But in three and a half months, by the time my birthday rolls around? I think they'll be ready! Going to keep it short this week. Hoping for better luck next Saturday!
Testing the weebly mobile app right now... What will this thing let me do?
