We're back in business now! I've given up the idea that I'm going to wake up one day and step on the scale and my body will be like "Surprise! You're back in the 140s. We gained it practically overnight so we lost it practically overnight, how does that sound?" So I'm thrilled to see a nice biggish loss. I lost 3.4 pounds this week, for a total of 12.5 pounds lost since I started Getting There. I'm 11.5 pounds away from the big milestone of 100 pounds lost.

This has been another week of staying on track without any real trials or temptations. A few stops at McDonalds here and there, but sticking to the healthier choices and not every day. A little bit of intentional exercise, although not as much as I know I can do and probably ought to be doing. Work just makes me so tired that all I want to do is come home and flop on the couch, then go to bed and stay there until the last possible minute. I will need to figure out something eventually, but in the meantime, I'm tightening up my food choices because I know I'm not burning as many calories.
A big challenge is coming up- we're taking Natalie to Orlando for a long weekend over Labor Day! We'll leave this Friday night and come back Monday night. We're not checking baggage, so I won't be bringing a scale- I will post next Sunday morning, but it won't include my weigh-in. Anyway, I will obviously be celebrating Eat All the Things Day while on vacation, and that's great, but the challenge will be to not let the entire weekend be an Eat All the Things Extravaganza. Lord knows we'll have enough to do- we're trying to squeeze in Universal, Disney, Sea World and some time at the beach in two and a half days, essentially- and for the most part we'll probably be grabbing theme park food so that we don't have to waste time leaving the parks. So it's not like anything all that tempting will be in front of me most of the time- theme park food is usually not worth going overboard on, so I'll just try to find some reasonable choices. With the exception of sundaes from Ghiradelli Chocolate Fountain every night for dessert, because we've already decided that's going to happen. Totally worth it.
I got a new bathing suit top! My old one didn't fit quite right because the top was a little small and I think it made me seem a little larger than I am. I also think there's a difference between where I am now and where I was a couple of months ago, so I'll be brave and post a comparison shot. But I'll start with the new bathing suit, shot at super-flattering angles- this is why most of the selfies girls take and post on facebook are from above!

Okay, now for the comparison shots. I think the biggest difference between the first two is in the bust- mostly due to having a suit that fits properly. It's way more comfortable, too!
Might be just me, or it might be that I'm holding my arms differently, but I see a big difference here. My belly protrudes far more in the first shot, and my thighs have smoothed out in the second, and the whole suit just seems to fit better. There's an even bigger difference in the shots that I took of the back view, but those are a little bit too revealing for public viewing!
So while I'm still not 100% confident and happy with how I look in a two piece, I'm happy enough to wear it on vacation where no one there knows me or will ever see me again! Ah, the joys of being somewhere new. I'll report to you next week from Orlando!
