next week (when I will go and face the music no matter what). You want inspiration this week, go read Amanda and Melissa's pre-marathon posts. It's a good thing I never promised to be all sunshine and roses every week when I started this thing, cause
this week, I got nothin' for ya.
Except this: Chris continues to rock his diet. He didn't lose weight after Eat All the Things day this week, but he only gained .2! (I gained 8. The injustice of this will never fail to irritate me.)
4/30 286.4
5/10 268.8
He is down 17.6 pounds in 10 days! I'm really proud of his discipline. Tomorrow is his doctor's appointment, and while I can't realistically hope for a massive change in his blood pressure and sugar level just yet, he's got momentum to make a huge difference there, and I'm excited to be cheering him on. It's great to work on it together. In addition to sticking to the food plan, we've dusted off our tennis rackets and played a couple of games, and we've also got some bikes for this summer that I'm eager to break in.
Garden update! The spinach is doing great- while the plants aren't yet in full bloom, enough leaves have grown for me to go out and harvest a little any time I want a salad or something to add to a stir fry! I'm even more excited about tomatoes, but those will take much longer- they aren't even ready to go in the ground yet (it's still too cold at night), and once they do, it'll be another couple of months before the fruit is ready. But good things come to those who wait! A good lesson all around for this week, I think.
