I'm proud of how I approached exercise this weekend... I flew in pretty late on Friday night, but the training didn't start until 11:30 on Saturday morning, so when I got to the hotel I eagerly perused the welcome book in my room for information on the fitness room and pool- and didn't find anything. So I assumed there wasn't a fitness room or pool. This totally put a dent in my morning plans- but I rallied and hit the parking lot to get in my mile, jogging around the entire hotel a couple of times. However, in talking to some of the other pre-leaders, I learned there WAS a pool and fitness center- it was just hiding! So after the full day of training, I threw on my swimsuit and hit the pool for twenty minutes.
This morning's training started bright and early, so I waited until I got home to tonight to do my mile... and man, it sucked tonight. After walking around both airports and carrying around some physical stress related to my presentation, I was really not feeling it and came closing to pulling back into a walk a couple of times- but I finished! I stuck to it every day this week, even doing double duty on Thursday because I knew I wouldn't want to jog on Friday.
As far as food goes, oddly enough, I did really well UNTIL the Weight Watchers conference! Many healthy options were provided, and I ate waaaay more than I needed to of all those healthy options. However, otherwise I tracked my points every day last week, before I ate them, and I never went over even by one. I even got my water in- which is way, way easier when I'm jogging. Chris was a rock star on the Simple Start program as well. He's been doing it for a straight month- I'm so proud of him and I wish he was getting the scale rewards he deserves. But due to his arm injury, his muscles and joints are swollen and inflamed, and he's retaining ALL the water. However, I'm seeing a difference in the way his shirts are fitting- I'm certain he's lost a few inches around his waist- and I can't wait until his body lets go of all the water it's retaining to try to mend the arm. I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the 250s within a few weeks.
No scale rewards for me, either, unfortunately. I skipped my weigh-in again this week, but I don't feel guilty about it because I am confident that I gave 100 percent this week- the scale just isn't cooperating. It is probably due to the change in routine and increased exercise, which my calf muscles are definitely feeling- it can take a week or two for good behavior to pay off. In the meantime, I'll be patient. And I'll celebrate my fitness victory!
