Only 5.1 pounds to go until I hit that big milestone... I've decided what my reward will be! My friend Jim Pierce is a creative, brilliant photographer (check out his stuff here) and we're going to do a photo shoot to celebrate my new look. Some traditional simple portraits in a pretty dress (maybe some theatrical headshot poses in that outfit because I'm about due for a new one), some funny ones with me either wearing or holding up the largest pair of pants I ever had to buy (size 22) a la Jared in the Subway commercials... you get the idea. (By the way, don't ever do a google image search for "weight loss photo shoot", because there's a guy who pops up in there several times who will haunt your dreams...well all right, do it if you insist, but I warned you.)
This will be a short post because I'm dead tired. I said yes to too many things this summer, and I'm paying the price for it now. The last couple of weeks I've barely had time to breathe, let alone exercise and menu plan and grocery shop and cook and other things that generally lead to good health. But I've been packing healthy-ish lunches and dinners rather than hitting the drive-through, so that's a victory. I've been consistent with my water, and as I stated last week, I think it's made a huge difference. However, rehearsals for our current show are close to a Baker's Square, and this particular production is a somewhat stressful one so we've been going in for pie therapy at the end of nearly every rehearsal. I've been conducting an informal experiment the last few weeks that I like to call "How much pie can a person eat and still lose weight?" I'm sure that bad little habit will catch up to me... but in the meantime, it's worth it.
