For those who didn't follow me on SpireSpire, a little introduction is in order. On March 1st, 2012, I started to lose weight and get in shape, and I blogged about it weekly. If you'd like to read those posts in chronological order, go here. I started out wearing a size 18/20 and weighing 247.2 pounds, which, when you're 5'10", looks kinda like this:
What I do know is that I'll never ever be one of those people who doesn't have to grapple with food and body issues on a daily basis. I will either be overweight and struggle with poor self-image and bad health, or I will be a healthy weight and struggle with the desire to eat more than I should. So if I have to struggle one way or the other, I'm choosing the struggle that doesn't involve foot pain and self-loathing and the risk of adult onset diabetes. I prefer the struggle where I get to see my collar bones, and where I enjoy dressing up and going shopping, and where I look and (more importantly) feel like the cute girl who first caught my husband's eye.
This blog will be my way of choosing the right struggle daily, and it is a daily choice, not something I get to decide once and for all. Look for a new post from me every Saturday, starting on February 16th! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you check back regularly.
