I think I can directly attribute the consistent losses lately to getting back on track with my water-drinking the last two weeks, because nothing else has changed. Much as I loathe it, I see a huge difference when I'm drinking a minimum of 75 ounces a day.
I also discovered that I own a cute little bathing suit coverup! I've had it for years and always assumed it was a skirt with a sort of weird waistband that had lots of extra fabric. But nope, it's meant to be worn over a bathing suit, which is exactly how I used it while walking through the parking lot and into the waterpark.
It was a great day: floating down the lazy river, feet interwoven with Chris's and Natalie's... going down some really great slides (but more importantly, being able to climb up the stairs to get to their entrances without any real difficulty)... napping on a lounge chair while the two of them played on Skull Island, getting a proper sunburn, and enjoying a snack-sized McFlurry on the way home!
That makes me remember a minor victory this week: I spontaneously ordered a small milkshake in a drive-through. I had honestly intended to just get a diet drink when we pulled in, but I saw they had a bacon-peanut butter milkshake and I had to give it a try. And it was tasty! But about halfway through, I realized that I had had enough. And I was able to keep that milkshake in its cupholder the whole way home... in the past, I would've had to pull over and dump it out, or at the very least move it to the back of the car so I wouldn't be tempted to mindlessly drink the rest of it on the way home, even though I didn't really want it anymore. But I honestly felt like I had the self-control to leave it alone- and I did.
A minor failing this week: I honestly haven't exercised at all. I'm supposed to be training for the 8K my friend Sarah and I are running in two weeks, and if I don't get it in gear soon I'm going to be walking more than half of it, and that's not what I want. I just can't seem to find the time and energy to get out there. We haven't played tennis in a few weeks, either, and the Wii is just sitting there wishing I would use it for more than a weigh-in. I've been a total slacker and it needs to stop. Hopefully I can turn it around this week and report back to you with better news in that department!
