I have a correction to this (not going to re-write the blog because doing it this way is WAY MORE EXCITING)! The weight below this correction was taken this morning, I'm about to head out to meet my husband and my friends and after rinsing myself off (Sheri has Cats and Chris is SUPER allergic) I decided to check my weight... MY ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS ARE
Current Weight: 161
Current BMI: 26.
And just so you know, my night-time weight is normally 2-3lbs heavier than my morning weight, ALSO I weighed myself 5 times to be sure, so I'm counting this as the real weigh in! Woo!
Starting Weight:174
Current Weight: 162.2
Starting BMI: 28.1
Current BMI: 26.2
What a week... Let me tell you, I am going to work REALLY hard not to fall off the wagon again because getting back on is really NO PICNIC! I lost ALMOST all the weight I gained last week! But not without some really TOUGH moments...
Monday at work was the hardest day I've had so far keeping myself in check. I was SO SNACKY. NO REALLY, I kept wanting to eat, AND THERE WASN'T A TREAT TABLE TEMPTING ME. I just kept thinking... MMM Cheese-its... MMMM Cheetos.... MMMMMMMMMMMMM wouldn't that be nice??? And I was totally not hungry AT ALL (I guess at least we know I didn't stretch my stomach out last week). Fast forward to hanging with Chris and his brother and I just kept reaching for the popcorn and another drink, and I was close to my food limit before we went out. So what happened here???
A study on livescience.com (which is seriously worth the read - http://www.livescience.com) might just have the answer...

When we've repeatedly eaten a particular food in a particular environment, our brain comes to associate the food with that environment and make us keep eating as long as those environmental cues are present
I've always been the kind of person who snacks while she works (and who doesn't love snacking while out with friends?), but I've LARGLY stopped these habits since I started this journey in January, and for the most part I haven't had to stop myself at all in the last two months... That is until this week. My guess is that last weeks mistakes triggered that old association again, apparently all I need to ruin all my self control is 5 days. GEEZE...
I reined myself in this week by doing slim-fast bars for lunch. Since it's not something TOTALLY DELICIOUS it seems to set my afternoon up for less cravings (don't ask me how it works). I think since it breaks my cycle SO DRASTICALLY it really forces me to look at what I'm doing... Which this week I TOTALLY NEED.
Working out has been okay, I got to the gym Monday, nothing on Tuesday since I teach dance in the evening, Wednesday I woke to find that I had done TOO MUCH with the girls the night before and both my back and legs were KILLING ME so I didn't go to the gym. However, I finished the week off strong by going to the gym both yesterday and today AND doing a Yogalates DVD with Sheri this evening (Amanda was supposed to join us, but ended up with a Migraine... YOU WERE MISSED!)...
Speaking of this evening, it was really just what I needed. We shared dinner (SUPER HEALTHY & TASTY, peanut butter hummus [Sheri I need the recipe], broccoli, & carrots), talked, did the Yogalates DVD (which was a LOT of fun), and talked some more. I have a handful of friends that from the moment I met them I've felt like "How have we not always been friends?" Sheri is one of those. Among other things we talked a lot about our particular journeys. I know we've all said it, but I'm particularly inspired by hers. If you're not already reading her blog you TOTALLY SHOULD she share loads of pictures, writes in a really fun way, and her journey really is just... TOTALLY AWESOME.
Goals for this week: Continue working out in the mornings (I'm aiming for at minimum Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday next week) and eating correctly (I think I'll do slim-fast at least a couple days this week as a reminder). I REALLY need to hit my next micro-goal because my gym shoes are tearing up my ankle. It's really not pretty....
WARNING THE NEXT PART IS KINDA GROSS
This morning about a minute into my workout the back of my ankle ripped open, so bad that I needed a bandaid (I almost left but I told myself I could get through my run with it covered), I went to the owner, got a bandaid, and.... MADE IT THROUGH MY WHOLE RUN WITH NO PROBLEMS!!!! Then I got off the treadmill to find that, not only had my bandaid come off... It couldn't have been on long because it was laying on the floor behind the treadmill (TOTALLY GROSS! To anyone who was at the gym I am SO SORRY about that!), and didn't have any blood on it... I guess what I didn't need was a bandaid, I just needed to set my mind to doing the run.
GROSSNESS OVER
Oh... And after reading through this post I have one more goal... Stop using the word TOTALLY so much. :)
Have an awesome week!
