Dear Body,
You and I, we are fighting. I feel like I don't even know you anymore! Remember how good we felt just last week when we went out running 5 days straight? You were happy, you felt good. What happened? Seriously let's talk.
Okay, so maybe I only gave you one day off, that does not excuse your behavior this week. Not only did you not want to get up in the morning to go work out, but once I got you out there you proceeded to complain and REFUSED to give me any sort of adrenaline boost. It's not like you're hurt, you just didn't want to be out there, why not? I know it's summer, I know you would rather be relaxing on a beach somewhere, so would I, but you didn't see me giving up on our goals. I gave you water, I didn't feed you the crap that I wanted to, I even let you lay in bed longer on Thursday and let you try out one of the treadmills at our work gym during lunch for a change of pace, and STILL you were not happy.
We made our goals this week (despite your protests), but apparently your whining was not enough, no... You had to go and gain .6lbs. You are SO not being fair.
We're in this together, you and me, we need to support each other, I need to know that I can count on you to at least PRETEND to like the morning run. I count on that energy boost that comes after we push past our last milestone, I NEED you to work with me on this. I can't be the only one trying. You need to give a little. Seriously. We need to keep moving in the right direction.
I know life was "easier" 20lbs ago. I miss not having to think about it too, I get it, believe me. It would be so easy to just go back to the way things were, but you know that you don't want that. You got tired, out of breath after just 15 seconds of running... You want to go back to that?????
...I didn't think so.
So here's the deal. This week I let you wait until Monday to get back out there, I know last week was tough so I gave in a bit, but starting tomorrow, we are going hard until Friday. You can do this, we can do this. We are stronger, and we have a better relationship than last week... So many people say that you can't change old habits. Let's prove them wrong.
Monday - Friday running
Water
You got this.
Love,
Melissa
