::Sings:: Bum bum bum ... another pound bites the dust ... bum bum bum ... another pound bites the dust ...
So Amanda posted yesterday, and as I read her list of things she was proud of I was AMAZED that she had run over 60 miles this month. So I decided to see how many I ran (thinking I might be around 40/45) and guys... I ran over 60 miles too!
And speaking of running that much. I ran 8 miles this morning, stopping just once at my house around mile 4 to use the bathroom, drink some water, AND... I ran the entire last mile!!! I hit 7 miles and instead of slowing down to a walk like I normally do, I decided to just push through. It felt really good, and I was kinda surprised by how easy this run was since I had a lot of trouble after last Sunday. I'm pretty sure it was jumping around like a crazy person choreographing and NOT the 7 mile run, but my hips were REALLY sore Monday. Tuesday they weren't much better and I had to cut my 4.5 mile outside run down to 3 miles inside on a cushy treadmill, I had every intention of adding that milage onto my short run on Wednesday but since I was still sore I stopped after only 2 miles on the treadmill. Considering I was shooting for an 8 mile run today, I took Thursday off, and rested on the normal Friday rest day. But today felt AMAZING and I'm so glad I gave my body the time it needed to heal. Thanks Amanda and Theresa for pushing me to rest!
This week was halloween and I stayed away from MOST of the candy (though I gave into some nerds and almond joy, I couldn't resist), and even managed to get my water in WITHOUT my citrus water bottle. I think I've crossed into a realm where I ::GASP:: like the taste of water... Weird...
We were encouraged to dress up at work on Thursday and so I decided to take this opportunity to dress up as Audrey.
So that's about it for this week. Tomorrow Chris and I are celebrating 1 year of marriage, going back to the brewery we were married at (I'm allowing myself to really enjoy this meal, because I haven't been back there since our wedding), and opening up our guestbook notes (instead of a traditional book, we had people write notes to future Chris and Melissa and sealed them in envelopes marked DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 11/03/13). A year later and ALMOST 10 pounds lighter than I was that day, I still love looking back at the photos. Pardon me while I get just a little mushy because this man means everything to me. Last year we vowed to continue on a path that we had started 9 years and 9 months before, had a great party, and stayed up until 4am with some of our nearest and dearest friends and family. It's days like that one that drive me to continue pushing myself, because I want to be around for many many more happy days.
